After you make the origami triangle fold, you can start making the origami kite base. It’s called a kite base because it looks like a kite. The kite base is a simple but important origami base and is used to create lots of different origami designs.
We will show you how to make this easy origami base, step by step.
Origami Kite Base Step 1: Start with a square piece of paper (any size you like).
First, you will fold the triangle. Fold diagonally from top to bottom or from bottom to top as shown. Fold carefully and precisely.
In this illustration I have folded from top down.
Step 2: Open the paper again and gently rotate it clockwise at a 45 degree angle (to make it easier to operate in the next step)
Step 3: Fold the right and left edges from the outside inwards so that the left and right edges coincide with the fold in the middle.
Finally we have an origami kite base. Simple right?
